Washington State Ferries 2007-2009 Biodiesel Demonstration Project

Washington State Ferries (WSF) is potentially one of the largest consumers of biodiesel fuel in the Pacific Northwest region. Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) managed a scientific study to determine appropriate fuel specifications and fuel-handling procedures for using biodiesel blended fuels in WSF operations. Study results will transfer directly to other marine applications, as well as to land-based end users. This paper focuses on the second phase of this study, implementation of the trials.
