摘要

Silver modified glassy carbon electrodes (GC/Ag) in sodium hydroxide electrolyte exhibit an extraordinary catalytic effect during the oxidation of formaldehyde. The influence of the silver content in the glassy carbon, the sweep rate and the concentration of formaldehyde on its oxidation was examined, as well as the stability of the electrode for this reaction. The activity of the modified electrode for the oxidation of formaldehyde is higher when the content of silver in the glassy carbon is lower. The peculiarity of the system studied is the selfacceleration of the anodic process at high anodic potentials. Periodic oscillations under galvanostatic conditions were observed.
