摘要

The present paper aims to understand the tribological properties of flux (K2TiF6) assisted stir-cast AA7050-10(wt.) % B4C composite using pin-on-disc tribometer under dry sliding condition. The tribological characteristics of AA7050-10(wt.) % B4C composite evaluated based on the full factorial design of the experiment. The experiments conducted by considering the applied load, sliding speed and sliding distance as input parameters to evaluate the tribological properties of the composite in terms of wear rate and coefficient of friction. The experimental result shows that the applied load have maximum influence on wear rate whereas sliding speed have maximum impact on the coefficient of friction. The developed regression model is consistent as the % error between the predicted and experimental values of wear rate, and coefficients of friction are within +/- 10%.
