Wrapped in the Cloak of June Purcell Guild: Taking Great Recession Inspiration from a Great Depression Social Worker

A social worker activist friend sent me a copy of a Nation editorial by June Purcell Guild that appears in this issue of JPHS. Within the first paragraph, I was engrossed in the author's description of economic conditions that are magnified in our present-day circumstances and her analysis of how the social work profession was inadequately responding to compelling economic bifurcation.
