Amendment of the title The title of the journal has been amended to include the word political, changing from the Journal of Power to the Journal of Political Power. This does not represent a change in direction. It was deemed necessary in order to avoid confusion with usage from the natural sciences, which has penetrated everyday speech, where power frequently constitutes shorthand for electrical power. As I have frequently argued (for instance, 1997, 2003,2010b), it is important not to make a fetish out of specific words: they are simply conceptual tools which enable us to order the word. If 'political power' works better in a Google search or makes life easier for librarians wishing to classify the journal, then it makes sense to change the title.
