Government consults on restrictions on landfilling of certain wastes

On March 18, 2010, Defra and the Welsh Assembly Government launched a consultation to identify preferred options for further restricting biodegradable and recyclable wastes from landfill in England and Wales. The consultation sets out options and also a candidate list of wastes that could be banned, including food, textiles, metals, wood, glass, plastics and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The consultation closed on June 10, 2010.
