DCLG: clarifies definition of zero carbon homes

On May 17,2011, the Housing Minister, Grant Shapps at the DCLG made a written statement setting out key policy decisions on aspects of the evolving definition of zero carbon homes. The decisions include that: Only carbon emissions that are within the scope of the Building Regulations 2010 (BR 2010) will be covered, such as those from heating, ventilation, hot water, fixed lighting and building services. Emissions from household appliances used in the house will not be included.
