Full range stress-strain relation modelling of pipeline steels

摘要

It is standard practice to model the post-yield behaviour of pipeline steels by means of the Ramberg-Osgood (RO) equation. However, errors can be made when the strain-hardening exponent or the slope of the stress-strain curve in the post-yield loading range varies with increasing strain. A new 'UGent' stress-strain model, outlined in this paper, has been developed to address this problem. It successfully describes the 'double-n' strain hardening seen in contemporary high-strength TMCP pipeline steels.
