An Integrated Deterministic/Probabilistic Approach to Reserve Estimations

The purpose of this paper is to promote discussions throughout the industry on the classification of hydrocarbon reserves and the need for more uniformity in classification systems and evaluation methods. The paper explains the method used within Mobil Oil E&P Corp. to evaluate and classify reserves and gives a simplistic example; however, we make no attempt to summarize all the past and current methods used within the industry.
