Facile and efficient guanylation of amines using thioureas and mukaiyama's reagent

With the growing importance of peptides and peptido- mimetics in a variety of disciplines, the need for efficient methods of synthesizing guanidines has increased, re- sulting in the recent development of several new reagnets for the guanylation of amines. During a recent solid phase synthesis of a guanidine-containing cyclic dipep- tide, we were confronted with the need for an efficient method for the guanylation of resin-bound amines.
