摘要

It is well known that the colour of sugar is related to the colour of clear juice. To get lower colour of sugar, one has to reduce clear juice colour. At the same time the clear juice turbidity is also important. For clear juice turbidity determination ICUMSA has recommended method GS 7-21. However online determination of clear juice turbidity is required for better results. Considering this need, we have developed an on-line turbidity measurement system for clear juice. This system can be directly used at the outlet of clarifier. Online clear juice turbidity measurement will help to control necessary process variables/parameters in time. The system was installed in the on-line process for turbidity measurement in one of the commercial sugar factories. The field trials and the results obtained are presented in this paper.
