摘要

The mardi gras project in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico employed an autonomous underwater vehicle to provide high-quality survey data. This allowed the project to take pipeline routing decisions with a high degree of confidence. The Mardi Gras transportation system is used to export oil and gas from Holstein, Mad Dog, Thunder Horse and Atlantis, which lie in water depths between 4500ft and 7300ft. The deepwater part of the project consists of oil and gas pipelines and steel catenary risers, with diameters ranging from 16 to 28in.
