摘要

Gamma--ray production double-differential cross sections have been measured for l.5 GeV π~+ meson incidence on iron target. Gamma-rays were detected by NE213 liquid scintillators and were separated fron1 neutron events by a two-gate integration method. The experimental results were compared with calculated values by the HETC-KFA2 code that takes account of in-medium effects. At γ-ray energies up to 7MeV, the calculated cross sections agree with the experimental data typically within a factor of 2. The measured data were also compared with proton incidence ones. The γ-ray emission cross sections fOr 1.5 GeV π~+ meson incidence tend to be larger than those for proton incidence in the energy region above 4 MeV.
