Optimizing Water Distribution System Flushing

摘要

Effectively managing and maintaining water distribution systems requires careful planning and a proactive approach. Having a calibrated hydraulic model of a water distribution system supports this approach, ultimately alleviating unnecessary strain on a utility. This paper identifies the benefits of having a hydraulic model, examines the components, reviews steps for proper calibration, and finally, discusses how to prepare and execute an optimized unidirectional flushing (UDF) program through the use of a hydraulic model.
