Electrical stimulation of the rat pedunculopontine nucleus (PPTg) (50 Hz) and current intensity (>500 µA). The data suggest that clinically relevant frequencies for PPTg deep brain stimulation in Parkinson’s disease modulate burst discharges in STN neurons.
