摘要

Computed tomography (CT) is a promising technique that is suitable to analyze core samples of already built structures or test the quality of geomaterials before use. The CT creates an image series of the examined object's cross sections using an X-ray; hence, materials of different density could be separated on the slices. To analyze the images, corrections, e.g., for beam hardening or noise reduction, need to be implemented. This paper presents a method that can determine the presence of dense objects inside a composite material on the CT slices using fast Fourier transformation. The method was performed with good results on several samples from asphalt core samples taken from road pavements and concrete core samples.
