Argentine Jews or Jewish Argentines? Essays on Ethnicity, Identity, and Diaspora

摘要

The past two decades have witnessed a flourishing of scholarship on immigrants and minorities in modern Latin America, corresponding with a methodological shift emphasising qualitative source materials, such as literature, the press, expressive culture and informant interviews, produced by these communities. The results have yielded exceptional studies on how these communities acted in the face of pressures or adaptation, integration and economic, political and social transformation. Yet the diversity of these newly tapped sources has not produced a matching sensitivity to the changing identities of these groups.
