摘要

Statistics show that 70 - 90% of transportation crashes involve human error. The likelihood of reacting erroneously or inappropriately increases 1000-fold when the driver's psycho physiological condition appears to be somewhat "abnormal" for that particular person. This situation may be caused by stress or a hidden health problem. This article attempts to outline the key elements of an innovative human-factor management technology based on a computer-assisted pre-shift monitoring system. The technology can bring about a dramatic reduction in human-factor risks for a transport company, whilst prolonging the professional life of its drivers. Results are based on experience using this system at Moscow Metro as well as in St. Petersburg, Kiev and one of the largest railway networks in the world - Russian Rail.
