A global leap towards automation: UITP Observatory of Automated Metros confirms strong, sustained growth for the coming years

The Observatory of Automated Metros held its 3rd Seminar on 5-6 March. Automated Metro Seminars are key to the Observatory's mission to disseminate the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge on automated metro operation, presenting the state of the art in UTO systems, a review on current situation and growth, and an analysis of trends and future projections. Held in Paris three months after the landmark conversion of Line 1, this edition gathered over 150 participants from 16 countries. This article offers an overview of the data contained in the Atlas as well as some of the main conclusions of the seminar itself.
