Present Situation and Future Prospects for Natural Gas Vehicle

Since 1990, the Japan Gas Association has promoted technical de- velopment, set targets and developed an environment for popularizing Natural Gas Vehi- cles (NGVs) and building refueling stations. As of the end of January 1997, 1,039 NHVs are running on the road and 38 quick refueling stations and 123 vehicle refueling appliances (VRAs) are operating throughout Japan.
