摘要

The discussers would like to thank the authors for their research in investigating the effect of masking and embedding on decreasing hydraulic conductivity. The discussers, however, would like add a few points about this research. 1. The results of Fig. 7 in the original paper show that the reduction of hydrualic conductivity (K) resulting from masking and embedding conditions is in the range of 9-53% for masking and in the range of 27-66% for embedding. This is a wider range than presented by Radcliffe et al. (2005) in Table 1 in the original paper. This result is caused by a wider range of ratio K (open: restricted) in the original study.
