AWAITING 2012 EUROPEAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP: RECONSTRUCTION OF THE NATIONAL 'OLYMPIC' STADIUM IN THE CITY OF KIEV

The article presents the results of reconstruction and new construction works at the National Sports Center "Olympic " stadium in the city of Kyiv, which were part of the preparations for the final tournament of the UEFA European Football Championship 2012. The conceptual designs and layouts of these structures are presented, together with data concerning the number of spectators, the built-up areas, and infrastructure. The structural designs for steel and ferroconcrete structures, their computational analysis, the manufacturing and erection techniques are presented.
