Development of Water Resistant and Flame Resistant Recipes for Cotton Fabrics

Through the yean, there has been an increasing interest in imparting water and flame resistance to cotton fabrics for specific end uses. In this research, an attempt has been made to develop there different recipes far water and flame resistant. And these recipes have been applied on cotton material and quality characteristics-have been analysed and compared with commercial recipe, which is used at present in the industry for water and flame resistant finishes. The research results give quite interesting data that the water resistant and flame resistant finishes on the cottonfabrics show better in some cases and at par with the commercial recipes. These finished fabrics have been graded. Another important feature in this study was the developed recipes cost cheaper than commercial recipe for the 60th finishes.
