Multiwavelet Decomposition for Audio Compression

摘要

This paper describes the performance of different types of wavelets for composing the transient audio signal. The wavelets that are investigated for this purpose are Dubechies family of wavelets, wavelet packets and multiwavelets. The performances of various wavelets are compared, based on compression ratio and the signal to noise ratio (SNR) value of the reconstructed signal.
