Optimum Link Capacity Allocation in a Communication Network

摘要

A communication network designer has to frequently design a communication network to be laid down between a set of locations (nodes). An important objective of this design process is allocation of optimum type of links between these nodes such that the network will transfer the desired capacity with a desired reliability from source node to sink node of the network at minim um cost. This paper presents a model and heuristic approach to solve this problem. The proposed approach allocates optimum type of links between network nodes. The proposed method provides global optimum solution to the problem with linear complexity.
