For last 20 years use of Indian Vastu Shastra in modern building design in India has got some increased impetus and is being followed by common people and also by industrialists. This has happened because of dealing with the subject by some high profile media creating increased interest in people. In addition to this the interest of people in Vastu Shastra, in turn, created interest in media to deal with the subject. Building industry is a significant sector in Indian economy. Any input in the building industry which can create interest in building owners has a tremendous effect in the building design. Main cause of interest behind the so called Vastu Shastra is, it is believed, that by following certain Vastu Rules owners and occupants of a building can gain 'health and prosperity".
