Planning for the future

We're all motivated by different things. For me, I want a job that is interesting, challenging and teaches me new things. I want to work in a positive environment with inspiring colleagues, where I can see what I do on a daily basis makes a difference to the organisation which is employing me. I should, however, have been an undertaker. At least according to the automated questionnaire I completed for the school career advisor. That was the first piece of career advice I ignored. There's been plenty since. I've turned down some great jobs too: I said no to an opportunity to set up and run a recording studio, working for a company which made some very cool equipment and to owning a cafe in a suburban park.
