"I lead a team of about 3,000 technicians who are installing and repairing Virgin Media products up and down the UK. I have 11 heads of department who look after their own regions and report to me. Every day is different. You never know what's around the corner and the sheer volume of work we carry out each day always throws up some surprises! There's obviously a fair amount of travel involved both within the UK and further afield given the international dimension of the company as part of the Liberty Global group. The company is very keen to cross-fertilise ideas between the people working in the many international territories we cover. (So saying goodbye to my wife and kids on a Monday is one of the few downsides of my role; I don't generally see them again until Thursday!)
