REARRANGEMENTS OF PHOTOGENERATED 1, 5-BIRADICALS IN THE PATERNO-BUCHI REACTION OF QUINONES WITH NORBORNADIENE OR QUADRICYCLANE

摘要

The photocycloadditions of the title compounds were investigated by measurements of chemically induced dynamic nuclear polarizations (CIDNP). CIDNP in these systems arises from 1, 5-biradicals III and to some extent also from radical ion pairs, which are precursors to III. By using the polarizations as labels the pathways of biradical formation and decay could be traced.
