The Study area is bounded between lat. 16°50′05″N; 16°54'45" N and long. 74° 33'20"E; 74°38' 30" E included in Toposheet No. 47 L/9 of SOI. The monitoring of dug well and bore well inventory data in Sheri Nala Basin has been carried out. Total nos. of 25 dug wells and 50 bore wells have been considered for the present investigation. During pre-monsoon season, the average range of time recorded to complete the pumping test was 2 hrs. and 5 hrs. in sub-basins Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ, Ⅴ respectively. While, during post-monsoon season, the time required to complete the pumping test was 10 hrs. and 14 hrs. for sub-basins Ⅲ and Ⅳ, Ⅴ respectively for dug wells. The deep seated aquifer is recharged due to the presence of fractured and brecciated zone in dug well nos. 17, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 24 during pre-monsoon season and 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 during post-monsoon season stores and transmit good yield and sustain appreciable amount of groundwater. In case bore wells an average minimum depth of water table is 37.40m in sub-basin Ⅴ and maximum depth of water table is 66.19m in sub-basin Ⅲ. The minimum average yield of groundwater for bore wells is 1158LPH in sub-basin Ⅱ and maximum average yield is 3170 LPH in sub-basin Ⅳ. The deep seated fractured, brecciated zone encountered in bore well nos. 2, 3, 9, 14, 21, 22, 29, 34, 36, 40, 41, 45, 47 and 48 is responsible to store and transmit good yield of groundwater and sustain appreciable yield. It has been observed that the geological and structural factors play an important role to recharge the deeper aquifers in the study area.
