Potential of Grey water to sustain the water demand-a case study of SVNIT, Surat

In a household, the proportion of greywater (GW) is around 50 to 80% of the total wastewater flow. Treated GW can be used for non-potable reuse such as irrigation, construction, floor washing and toilet flushing, etc.Objective of the present study was to examine the quality of grey water in the SVNIT campus and to assess its potential for reuse. Present study revealed that around 339kL/d of GW can be treated and used for gardening and similar non-potable purposes.
