Thank You From The Editor

This is the final issue of the Journal for 2008, our 52nd year; as usual it is time to thank those who have participated in our editorial work. The work of editing is, of course, shared principally by our reviewers. These reviewers, I am happy to say, are individuals who share my own editorial philosophy, namely that the primary function of the review process is to be constructive, directed toward mentoring authors to make the most positive possible presentation possible of their work. Just as the Journal has become increasingly international, with 34% of the papers accepted for publication in 2008 from institutions in the European Com- munity, 41% from Asia-Pacific countries, and 25% from North America, so our community of reviewers is increasingly international.
