Closure to 'Apparent Roughness in Wave-Current Flow: Implication for Coastal Studies' by Alexander Perlin and Eliezer Kit

The discussers argue that the empirical expression developed by the writers is not compared directly with the available experimen-tal data to show how well it performs and suggest such a comparison. In fact, the empirical formulas developed by the writers were compared to a number of available experimental results (see Fig. 2 in the original paper), and the comparison was discussed in the paper. Data suggested by the discussers for comparison are not widely available to the coastal engineering community since they were published in Delft University of Technology reports and not in refereed journals.
