The discusser would like to express her appreciation to the authors for developing a predictive relationship to determine the median round-shaped stone size of a riprap layer in overtopping flow condition. Eqs. (6) and (7), respectively, define the median stone size as a function of unit discharge, embankment slope, and stone gradation coefficient of uniformity. The discusser would like to present and compare research results of river bed stabilization using unstructured block ramps. These are of interest due to the similarity of the topic involving the hydraulic stability of roughness elements in overtopping flow.
