Cook County (Ill.) Adds New Affordable Housing Units

In a news release, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced the creation of 1,350 new affordable housing units in 2012. Of these units, 1,000 are for people who qualify for the Section 8 housing program and 150 have been designated for homeless veterans. The Housing Authority of Cook County is Illinois' second-largest provider of affordable housing.
