The Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (Md.) is working with the National Center for Housing Management to install solar panels in two of its buildings. The project calls for 300 panels at Harbour House and about 30 at the Morris H. Blum senior high-rise. Project leaders estimate as much as $760,000 savings over the projected 30-year life spans of the solar panel systems. The program allows the housing authority to split the savings with the NCHM for the first ten years; all subsequent savings belong solely to the housing authority.
