HCD IN CHARM CITY: THE 2014 NAHRO NATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION

This Year's Nahro National Conference and Exhibition began on Wednesday, October 15, at the Baltimore Convention Center: mere steps away from Camden Yards, which at the time was one of the epicenters of baseball playoffs fever. Aside from the usual committee meetings, early arrivals were also able to attend the HUD Smoke-Free Housing Symposium, a free interactive workshop that covered why more owners and agencies are moving towards adopting and implementing smoke-free housing policies in their properties. The conference proper began in the late afternoon. Lori Myers-Carpenter, NAHRO's Director of Customer Service and Member Relations, presided over a packed room at the First-Time Attendees Orientation, which provided newcomers with a guide to the conference as well as the first of many networking opportunities. Then came the Welcome Reception, during which members partook of light refreshments as they reconnected with old friends and met new colleagues.
