SHA CA$H Incentive Program

In 2011, the Spartanburg Housing Authority (SHA) and the United Way of the Piedmont's Gifts in Kind Program (GIK) partnered to assist residents in acquiring needed household items. The United Way GIK Center receives returned merchandise from major retail outlets in the Southeast region and gives them to low-income individuals. There are only seven GIK centers in the U.S., so SHA was glad to have it as a resource.
