Reflecting on the 113th Congress and the Two-Year Fight for Responsible Housing and Community Development Funding

It's tempting to define the 113th Congress by things they did not complete. They were the second most unproductive Congress in history in terms of legislation passed and they presided over the third-longest government shutdown in history. However, this cynical yet popular view ignores many of the 113th Congress' accomplishments that had a measurable impact on HCD programs, accomplishments to which NAHRO members directly contributed. The lesson NAHRO members should take from this Congress is that your voices do matter and that they do have an impact on your representatives in Washington, DC.
