In today's tough economy and job market, "nursing is one of the few careers that seems to weather hard economic times," and, in general, offers job security, job satisfaction, attractive salaries, and is a career that consistently ranks in public opinion polls higher than doctors, teachers, and the clergy in terms of honesty and ethical behavior. Although it might not be a surprise that women dominate the field, men represent only 7.1% of working nurses-and 6.6% of all nurses overall. So why should men want to pursue a career in nursing?
