摘要

Librarians have skills and expertise that make them uniquely suited to work in health literacy, consumer health, and patient education. Unfortunately, many health care organizations may not recognize or fully understand the value of such an initiative. To enter the field of health literacy and consumer health, librarians must be creative in their job search and willing to step outside traditional library-centric roles. This endeavor is not without its challenges, but it also brings many professional and personal rewards.
