In the town where I was born (New York City), there are many cultural things known globally to exploit for tourism purposes. However, for Liverpudlian Michael Brocken, there is one obvious commercial thing to tap into for developing tourism in his hometown: the Beatles. This book deals with many of the challenges facing the use of the heritage of the Beatles to develop tourism in Liverpool. The intention of the book is to deal with the use of the heritage of the Beatles to develop tourism in Liverpool but, inadvertently, there is a great deal of interesting and intriguing information that comes across to those of us who are interested in the phenomenon of the Beatles. This is an interesting book and informs the reader a great deal about music heritage and tourism in Liverpool, despite some of its weaknesses.
