What are the effects of health care reforms on gender equity, particularly in health?

In most countries, the pressure for health care reformnis aimed at improving the efficiency, equity andneffectiveness of the health sector. Emerging evidencenshows that health care reforms can affect men andnwomen differently, as a consequence of their differentnpositions as users and producers of health care. Thisnreview assesses the impact of four key health carenreforms – decentralization, financing, privatization andnpriority setting – on gender equity in health.
