Latest Proposed Changes in Notice of Proposed Rulemaking HM-215 with International Regulations

DOT has published a NPRM to align the Hazardous Materials Regulations with the most recent editions of the UN Model Regulation, the ICAO Technical Instructions, and the IMDG Code. These latest proposed changes are based on the Thirteenth Revised Edition of the UN Recommendations, Amendment 32 to the IMDG Code, and the 2005-2006 ICAO Edition of the Technical Instructions. Comments on the HM-215G Notice of Proposed Rulemaking are due August 23, 2004. The proposals are substantive and wide-reaching. Their publication here follows our July 27 electronic distribution (2004-09) of this report to assist our readers in filing comments by the August 23, 2004 deadline.
