Decisions of the UN Sub-Committee of Experts Meeting

The Twenty-Fourth Session of the United Nations (UN) 'Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods was held in Geneva from 3 to 10 December 2003. This was the second of a total of four sessions of the Sub-Committee that will be held in the 2003/2004 biennium, and while many important and very significant issues were discussed, few actual amendments to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods ("the UN Recommendations" or "the Model Regulation") were adopted. Consideration of many of these issues is expected to be resumed at the next session of the Sub-Committee (July 2004) when additional information and/or revised proposals taking account of the Sub-Committee's comments and discussions are available. This summary is intended to outline the Sub-Committee's decisions in connection with some of the more significant items on its agenda.
