Un Sub-committee To Meetto Finalize Amendments To un Model Regulations

In early December, the United Nations (UN) Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods ("the Sub-Committee") will hold the fourth and final Geneva meeting in its 2007/2008 biennium of work. Its main purpose will be to finalize the Sub-Committee's work on amendments to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (referred to either as the "UN Recommendations" or the UN "Model Regulations") as developed by the Sub-Committee in the course of the 2007-2008 period. At this session the Sub-Committee will also develop its plan for future work to be pursued during the 2009-2010 biennium. Immediately following this meeting, the amendments developed by the Sub-Committee will be forwarded to the full UN Committee for final approval, for incorporation into what will be the Sixteenth Revised Edition of the UN Recommendations (expected to be published in mid-2009).
