Shipper's Certification On Hazardous Materials Shipping Papers May Not Be Modified

DOT has issued several letters of interpretation on requirements associated with the shipper's certification. The certification is required on almost all hazardous materials shipping papers. See 49 CFR § 172.204. Exceptions are shown in 49 CFR § 172.204(b). Many people have asked if they are permitted tornmodify the shipper's certifications specified in the Hazardous Materials Regulations.
