One of the anticipated benefits of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) was to facilitate international trade in chemicals. With the implementation of the GHS, there is more harmonization than before but it is not complete harmonization. GHS labels seem to be presenting one of the major challenges as products move along the supply chain. One of the GHS labeling issues is that of language. Is it necessary to translate GHS labels into various languages?
