Packaging Selection for High Vapor Pressure Liquid Materials

High vapor pressure liquids can be safely transported in IBCs drums and jerrycans provided the vapor pressure requirements per 49CFR are ＜ 350 kPa and the compatibility is accurately assessed for the lading. Steel drums and 31A IBCs have more selections and the plastic drum and 31 H1, 31H2 IBC offer some alternatives for corrosive materials. If these are not robust enough the next step are pressure vessels to be discussed later.
