One of Malaysia's most successful accomplishments is the establishment of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC). This project was introduced by Malaysia's former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed in 1996 with the initiative to promote the global information and communication technology (ICT) industry. MSC Malaysia includes an area that approximates 15 by 50 km2 that stretches from Petronas Twin Towers to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport including the towns of Putrajaya, Cyberjaya as well as Klang Valley. MSC Malaysia's vision and mission is to transform the nation into a knowledge based society driven by the new economy.
